Maybe We're Not Quite Ready to Have Kids

Thank you to Adam’s work colleagues, who threw him (well, us), a baby shower last night to welcome our little dude to the world. We’re overwhelmed with your generosity. And we really hope our kid isn’t allergic to cats.

Let’s just hope Baby D doesn’t weigh as much as DeKoening!
I hope the baby doesn’t have as much toe fluff!
If he does have toe fluff I’m going to position him as a celebrity endorser for some snowshoe company.
The good thing is your child will probably not develop an allergy to begin with because of being exposed to it young!
Hopefully…
Gosh that cat is cool!!
When’s the due date?
End of December! And yes, everybody loves DeKooning…
Our fluffies could be cousins. Our Sampson and your DeKooning look a lot alike. And I think the celebrity endorser for snowshoes is an excellent plan!
I thought it was cute when men had these on with babies in them… this is great! Who knew cats could be as cute as babies!
What a ham! (DeKooning, I mean…) Looks like he will be easy-going with the babe.
Best. Cat. Ever. But I’m anticipating some major jealousy. A blogger I follow once asked herself before her birth who will love the cats? One year later, she said: No one. ;(
Alas, kitties do suffer when babies arrive. Starsky and Hutch spent the first month of Adam and Jeff’s life huddled under the bed wondering what on earth had happened to their charmed life as rulers of the household. It didn’t help that Hutch climbed the Christmas tree and knocked it over nearly every day that I was in the hospital with A&J. But she ended up loving both of them to the end of her life.
I’ve now received one request to print this as a postcard announcing our baby’s arrival. I’d do it, but that might disappoint those who actually want to see the wrinkly new arrival.
